Should we stay on Disney or off? - Orlando Forum - TripAdvisor

We have a family of 5 (3 kids: ages 7, 4, 3). We will probably have our minivan and will be making the trip Christmas break. This is a trip really for the kids so will spend most time at Magic Kingdom.I am trying to weigh whether we should stay in one of the Disney resorts or get more room and stay off site but close by.. I am looking to keep costs down.
